A yacht charter in Miami means the whole boat is yours: a private yacht, a USCG-licensed captain, fuel, ice, water, a cooler and Bluetooth sound — all included in one price, for your group only. Nobody else boards, you set the route, and the totals on this page are what you actually pay.

That last part matters, because it's rare here. Most Miami operators show a "from" price with no duration attached, then add captain, fuel and fees when you call. We publish the full block totals — every rate on the price page matches the calculator further down and the quote you get by email. The only things not in the number: catering, gratuity (15–20% is customary), jet ski add-ons and dock pickup outside our marinas.

Four hours is the minimum on all yachts and, honestly, the minimum that makes sense — by the time you've cruised Millionaire's Row and anchored at a sandbar, four hours is gone. Six hours is the most-booked block: it fits two anchorages plus a golden-hour run past the skyline. Eight hours is a full day, usually chosen for birthdays and multi-stop routes. A 30% deposit holds the date; the balance is due on charter day, and weather reschedules are free with 48+ hours notice.

Compare those totals with what you'll find elsewhere: the sites ranking around us either publish no prices at all or a bare "from $1,250" with no duration and no word on captain or fuel. Per person, a $1,800 six-hour charter split among 12 friends is $150 each — less than a good dinner on Ocean Drive, for a private yacht.

When to book: Miami charters run year-round, but demand peaks January through April, with March spring break the tightest month — reserve 3–4 weeks out for a weekend then. November and December bring the flattest, calmest water of the year and easier availability. June through November is hurricane season on paper; in practice rain cells pass in under an hour, and if the captain calls a day unsafe, your reschedule costs nothing.

A pro shooter on board for the first hour or the whole charter — drone passes over the sandbar, golden-hour portraits with the skyline behind you. You get edited files, not a phone dump.

Book upgrades at least 72 hours ahead. Catering and decoration totals depend on headcount and scope, so they're quoted with your charter — always as a fixed number, never "starting at".

Groups of 14+ legally require a Coast Guard inspected vessel, which in Miami usually means a party catamaran certified for up to 65 guests. Any operator offering to put 20 people on a private yacht is offering you an illegal, uninsured trip.

Do we really have to go barefoot on a yacht?

Mostly, yes. Hard soles and heels mark teak and gelcoat, so captains ask guests to leave shoes in a basket at the boarding step. Barefoot or boat shoes are the norm; bring flip-flops for the sandbar. It sounds fussy until you see the deck — then it makes sense.

How does the deposit and weather policy work?

A 30% deposit holds your date; the balance is due on the day of the charter. If the captain calls the weather unsafe, you reschedule free with 48+ hours notice — his call, not a fine-print committee. Summer squalls usually pass within an hour, so most trips run with a small route adjustment.

Can we charter a yacht for more than one day?

Yes. Multi-day charters are priced as consecutive 8-hour days — two full days on a 50–59 ft yacht come to $7,200 — with the boat returning to the marina each evening. For overnight trips toward the Keys or Bimini, we quote crew and dockage individually. Book 2–3 weeks ahead for multi-day dates.
