Here's the deal, plainly: we rent jet skis in Miami as an add-on to a private charter — from $120 per hour per ski with any yacht charter or boat rental of 4 hours or more. The skis are delivered to your boat at the sandbar, fueled and ready, and your crew rides straight off the swim platform. We do not offer standalone jet ski rentals — no yacht, no ski.
Why run it this way? Because a jet ski is the best 45 minutes of a boat day, not a whole day. You cruise Biscayne Bay, anchor in clear 2–4 ft water at Haulover, swim, eat, ride, repeat. The people not riding are on a yacht with shade, a cooler and music — not standing on hot sand holding everyone's phones. Add-on vs beach stand
Beach operators sell sessions. A charter sells you the whole bay.
Beach stands batch riders into fixed 1.5-hour slots. Your skis arrive at the boat when you're ready to ride, and paperwork is done before you leave the dock.
Many beach rentals confine you to a patrolled corridor. From an anchored yacht near the sandbar you ride real open water — the stretch of bay the beach riders can see but can't reach.
Your captain and your own group watch every rider from the deck. If someone drops the ski or tires out, help is a hundred feet away, not back on shore.
On a beach rental, half your group waits on sand. On a charter they're swimming at the sandbar, running the playlist, or mid-boat party while riders rotate.

Honest market note: standalone jet ski rentals on Miami Beach typically run $125–$165 per 1.5-hour session, per ski. If all you want is a quick solo ride and no boat, a beach operator is the cheaper call — that's their product, not ours. Ours makes sense the moment two or more of you want a full day on the water.
Requirements
Most rental sites skip this entirely. Here is the actual law, so nobody gets surprised at the swim platform.
Short version: there is no "jet ski license" in Florida, but riders born on or after January 1, 1988 must carry a Boating Safety Education ID card and photo ID to operate one, the minimum operating age is 14, and every rider — driver or passenger — must wear a life jacket. The details:

The rule that catches most visitors: anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 cannot legally throttle a jet ski in Florida without a Boating Safety Education ID card — and a temporary certificate earned through a short online exam counts. Sort it out the night before your charter and the whole group rides.
If someone in your group can't or doesn't want to certify, they don't sit out — Florida allows uncertified guests to ride as passengers behind a legal driver, and there's a whole yacht to enjoy between turns.

Most groups take one or two skis and rotate riders — an hour per ski goes far when everyone swaps every 10–15 minutes. More skis are possible on request, subject to availability on your date. Tell us the number when you book and we confirm it in the quote.
In open water around your anchorage — typically the wide, swimmer-free stretches near Haulover Sandbar or Nixon Beach off Key Biscayne. Marinas, channels and posted zones are idle-speed only, and Florida bans jet ski operation from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise, so all riding happens in daylight.
Safer than a beach rental in practice. Florida law requires every rider to wear a USCG-approved non-inflatable life jacket and the driver to clip on the engine cut-off lanyard; we add a briefing before the first ride and spotters on the yacht watching every rider. You ride in open bay water, away from swimmers and surf.
No. The same 30% deposit that holds your charter date holds the skis. The balance is due before departure in USD — card or crypto. If the captain calls a weather reschedule 48+ hours out, the skis move to the new date free, along with the boat.
